Codex (CLI and IDE extension)
Add the server and sign in:
codex mcp add chataman --url https://chataman.com/mcp
codex mcp login chataman
The browser opens the ChatAman consent page, where you choose the organization and permissions. You can also add it from the IDE extension: gear menu → MCP servers → Add server.
Codex with a connection token
In ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.chataman]
url = "https://chataman.com/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "CHATAMAN_MCP_TOKEN"
Then set the environment variable CHATAMAN_MCP_TOKEN to the token you created in ChatAman.
Cursor
Create a token in Developer tools → AI assistants, then add to .cursor/mcp.json (or your global Cursor MCP settings):
{
"mcpServers": {
"chataman": {
"url": "https://chataman.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_CHATAMAN_TOKEN" }
}
}
}
VS Code
In .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"chataman": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://chataman.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_CHATAMAN_TOKEN" }
}
}
}
Any other MCP client
Use the Streamable HTTP transport with:
- URL:
https://chataman.com/mcp - Header:
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_CHATAMAN_TOKEN
Clients that support OAuth with dynamic client registration can sign in instead of using a token.
Keep tokens safe
- A token is shown only once when you create it. Store it in an environment variable or a secret manager.
- Never commit a token to a repository or paste it into a chat.
- Each token has an expiry date. Revoke it from Developer tools → AI assistants if it may have leaked.
